The long term performance of the European private equity industry remains robust according to final data for 2008, despite a difficult exit environment and downward pressure on valuations, according to data by Thomson Reuters in association with EVCA. However, macro-economic volatility over the past years has caused a slump in short horizon returns.

Enterprise Venture Fund I (EVF I), the venture capital fund managed by Enterprise Investors (EI), has acquired 100% of Web Inn, a fast growing Polish IT outsourcing company. EVF I has paid a total of PLN 16 million (approx. €3.6 million) for the business. After the transaction Web Inn plans to continue with its rapid growth.

RCAF V Closes 30% Above Target, Continues Focus on Smaller End of the Middle Market

Thanks to significant support from existing and new investors, The Riverside Company has closed its latest fund well above target. Riverside Capital Appreciation Fund V (“RCAF V”) had targeted $900 million when it launched in March 2008. On May 29, 2009 it closed on $1.17 billion – 30% above target and 56% above the total raised in 2003 for the RCAF ’03 vintage.
